So, my new wardrobe hunting begins…

One boring, Saturday afternoon, a friend invited me to go to Shang and shop. I told her that I would accompany her but I wouldn’t buy anything because I already splurged on a lot of things the previous week.

But what can I say? Girl Friend + Mall = Shopping. Nobody can really mess with that equation.

And… Can you actually resist these boots??

Yeah? Even if it was on sale??? Nah. Didn’t think so. Before my lifestyle changed, I would probably silently admire this and not buy it. But damn, now? I do wear it because I can and I have places to wear it to!

This is my new favorite pair of shoes. It’s just … love! Haha! This is definitely something unexpected for me! Yay! Thank you Els for pushing me to buy this! I wanna go back for the “almonide” one!!

Everything is just starting to sink in– the thing about changing your lifestyle and spinning it to the opposite direction is that, well, you gotta change almost everything. I realized that ever since I was out of the 8-5 job, I re-arranged the furniture at my pad and now, half of my clothes, I can’t seem to wear anymore. It’s not the size, nor the “fad” factor. It’s just that, it’s not applicable anymore. I find myself looking inside my closet and it seems empty because (almost) nothing in it is something I want to wear, anymore. Or I find myself pairing things that I would not even dare wear to work, because it’s too laid back.

I must say, it took awhile for me to see this or rather, accept it? Haha. I always have a hard time letting go of my clothes, my shoes and my bags. I guess the classic ones I keep, just in case.

It hit me recently, when after a long, long time, I found myself splurging for new and different clothes and the whole shebang. I need to save up and begin the year with new stuff that apply more to me or to my current lifestyle. The good thing, it’s an excuse to shop. Hahaha! The down side, well, we all know the down side.

By the way, I wore this 2-3 weeks ago, when 2 friends invited me to judge a play. Haha. I found the experience really nice. Being with students really, really, makes you feel like you’re one (again). It was my first time to judge a school play or any play for that matter. πŸ˜›

Oh, and I really love this top! I like the twist detail!

Happy New Year! To a great year and to new beginnings! Cheers!

Since this is what I wore to one of my most memorable Christmas Parties of this year (and since, I’ve been wanting a Greek inspired outfit for the longest time), I decided to post this as my Yuletide outfit. Or as Ancient Greece would have it, the Winter Solstice.

I’ve always loved Christmas, from the parties, reunions – awkward ones and the happy ones, gift-shopping, gift-giving and all that, oh-so-yummy food. This year’s Christmas seem to have more depth than the past Christmases that I’ve had, or am I just maturing? Or was it the roller-coaster ride year that is, 2009?

I must say, there were a lot of changes and trials this year and I am thankful for those who helped me and for surviving all of them. Needless to say, for what it’s worth, I am still thankful for everything. I know for a fact that I learned a lot.

Oh! This is one of the effects of the year ending. I get to recount everything that went good and bad the past year. So that when the new year comes, I am able to set new goals for myself.

To more great finds, great clothes, great eras, great themes, great shoes, to the year that has passed us and to a whole, new, roller-coaster 2010, CHEERS!

I now bid all of you a Great Yuletide Season and a Wonderful New Year! Thank you all and see you all next year! πŸ˜€

This photo was taken by Elyoo last month. It was a random favor for a friend. Anyway, I really like the photo, hence, the post. Nothing much to say here, just that maybe, I realized that I was actually conscious that someone was taking my photo in front of strangers.

Oh, this was also the day that we discovered that a hamburger food chain’s burger was not made from 100% beef. Hahhahahahaha!

***Thank you, Els!!!*

Whaaat????? Hahahahahahahah! I know I haven’t been around in awhile, with the storms that passed here in the Philippines and all. But more than that, I prepared myself for my biggest day–yes! I just quit my job last Wednesday. Had a long talk with my boss but yesterday, it was finally official. Memos are out and I can now declare it.

I JUST QUIT MY JOB!

I know I made the right decision because I have never felt this good and happy the past few months. When I finally had my exit interview, I really felt happy and most of all, free.

Don’t get me wrong, I loved my job, I learned a lot, am friends with most of my officemates, will sorely miss them, yada-yada-yada. My officemate is probably right, “I will never find another office like this”. But the thing is, I felt so constrained and frustrated because it wasn’t enough or something. I needed to break free.

Just 3 more weeks and I’m out!

I have never felt so excited to go back to my roots. I will make my dreams and goals happen–freely.

I don’t want to delve in the details of the quitting day anymore. It’ll be too long to write. Haha. Anyway, I just felt that this outfit was perfect for the celebration. Totally opposite of the corporate considerations that I have to think of when dressing up for work. I felt like I was in College again — tank top, mini skirt… (oh, the days.. haha)

I am so ready to face the unemployed world and just take a break. I haven’t had a break since the Senior sem break (I worked straight out of College, just a day after Graduation. Hahahahah! Crazy, I know.)

Production, here I come! Oh, how I’ve missed you! I have so many plans right now, so many things that I want to do and I will make it happen!

By the way, I really, really like this necklace. πŸ™‚ I have one in gold too. Will feature that soon.

*excited for November* Here I go! Wish me luck! See you around, loves!

Top: White tank, Aeropostale | Gray vest (is this a vest? haha) | Pieces

The big project is over! Before I write about the luscious buffet I had last Friday, I’d just like to congratulate AP 24.07 for the release of Manghuhula. Also, thank you thank you for all those who supported us! πŸ™‚

Anyway, I was invited to binge out on one of the biggest buffets here in Manila– Spiral Buffet at Sofitel. What to wear on such a delightful occassion?

1. Black: So you’ll always look thin even if you are sooo full. Hahah

2. For all the ladies out there, an A-line top or an empire one, to hide that bulging tummy when you’ve eaten almost everything the buffet has to offer. Hahaha!

I really, really loved the food at Spiral, Sofitel. What’s more is that I binged with my 2 great friends! The drive was worth it! I have never eaten that much since forver! And the dessert bar was just to die for!

Anyway, enough with the foodie. Hehe. I discovered a store (that’s apparently been here awhile already) called Tango. It’s a local store here in Manila that has 3 branches in Metro Manila. Anyway, their stuff is really, really great and with reasonable prices. I debuted it at the Spiral Buffet. Hehe. They don’t have a website just yet, though.

Oh, and Annie, I really, really, really love this clutch that you gave me!!!! πŸ˜€

Wee!!!! I’m back from the hectic world called work. Haha!

Top: Black, low neck A-Line, Tango

Bottom: Skinny jeans, Flea Market

Bag: Black studded clutch, Aldogift

Sunglasses: MNG

Shoes: Black and gray strappies, VNC

I know I haven’t been able to update the past few weeks. I have been terribly busy preparing 2 major events.

JustΒ  a little background…

Almost 2 years ago, I shot an Indie film, “Manghuhula”, directed by Paolo Alessandro Herras and produced by AP24.07. Direk Pao asked me to be the Production Designer for the film. And now, after its premiere last year at the 2008 Cine Manila Film Festival, it is set for its commercial run on 09.09.09.

Two consecutive events happened. The SM Red Carpet Premiere and the UP Film Screening. (I know this is different from my previous posts and apologies because I wasn’t able to take solo pics for my 2 outfits. Been really, really busy).

These are photos of the cast that attended (Ms. Eula Valdes, Ms. Pinky Amador and Mr. Mark Gil) together with Director Paolo Herras, Producers (Joey Santos, Sanj Licaros – for Marc Licaros) and the Assistant Director, Ram Tolentino and PR Consultant, Jayce Perlas.

Actually, I already posted the dress that I wore here. Oh! and this is the first time I used the bag that Annie gave me. πŸ™‚

This was followed by a fun after party! πŸ™‚

UP FILM SCREENING:

(courtesy of the UP Sirkulo ng Kabataang Artista [SIKAT], CSSP Student Council [CSSPSC], Buklod CSSP, UP Alyansa and very, very special thanks to Jeff Agustin for making this a huge success)

With the UP Film Screening, the theme was gypsy. The event started of with free hula by the students themselves. I was excited to, well, 1. Dress up in a costume (nothing new there. haha!) and 2. have my fortune told, for free!

Thank you for those who came and watched the film, both at the SM Red Carpet Premiere and of course, the UP Film Screening.

If you haven’t watched it, please try to catch it at major SM Cinemas and major Robinsons Cinemas. IN THEATERS 09.09.09!

I will not be posting sources and details of my outfits just for this post. πŸ™‚
